OASC is not a singles club -- it is quite the opposite of the
unpleasant meat market one often finds in bars. The club is
about enjoying a very wide variety of activities together, always with
the great outdoors in focus or in mind. Club Members include
couples, spouses (in the situation that the other spouse is too busy
to join, or does not have outdoor interests), and single people in
their 20s through their 70s. In fact, there is a
discount for people who join the club as a couple. The club
is great fun in part because the focus is on participating in the
activity at hand, and meeting new people casually happens along the
way -- which is how one comes to make great new friends with similar
interests. Sometimes these friendships develop and blossom.
Below are a few of the exciting 2007 celebrations of people who
happened to meet in the club, and then shared their photos -- thank
you! If you know of others,
please let Matt know. Thanks!

Angela Whetzel and Matthew Green, engaged in September 2007 atop
Carter Mountain, Charlottesville, Virginia.
